Automating Real Business Workflows with n8n, Webhooks & APIs: From Webhook to Production

A hands-on, intermediate-level workshop on building a reliable business workflow with n8n, webhooks and APIs, self-hosted at zero extra SaaS cost. In 50 minutes, we build one complete workflow live: 1. Webhook ingestion with payload validation and authentication (header secret). 2. Payload transformation and data enrichment through an external API (HTTP Request node). 3. A custom script (Code node) for lead scoring and deduplication. 4. An AI step to classify or summarize each lead, with cost and latency control (small model, input trimming) and a human-approval branch to limit hallucinations on sensitive actions. 5. Output to Google Sheets and Slack notifications. 6. Error handling: retries, an error-trigger workflow and alerting. Participants leave with the exported workflow (JSON), a setup guide and a checklist for making any n8n workflow production-ready (secrets management, idempotency, logging, backups). Timing: 5 min context and demo of the result, 35 min live build, 10 min failure testing and Q&A.
